Kindness
Let’s revisit a key point from our previous discussion-the significance of a structured morning routine. It's crucial to have one, even if it may seem like chaos at times. The key is to ensure that everyone is ready and off to their destinations. Remember, chaos can be its own reward, but only if you navigate through it.
Chaos leaves little room for error. A small bump can derail the whole process. This is particularly true regarding moods and emotions, which can easily disrupt a chaotic routine.
A chaotic routine can’t handle an explosive emotion like anger. Conversely, a touch of kindness can enhance the morning’s chaos. Of course, it isn’t easy to pile some kindness into a schedule that is spiralling downwards. But remember, even a tiny effort to manage emotions can make a big difference, giving you optimism for a better morning routine.
Children bring raw emotions to an issue. Often, they are unsure what is causing their anger, sadness, glee, anxiety, or just plain stubbornness. Remember, these emotions are normal and manageable, and your understanding can make a world of difference.
Here’s where you wish you had a calmer routine, right? Let’s add to the previous post:
Prepare for the morning. Can school lunches be packed the night before, for instance?
De-fuse before escalation. Recognise a burning issue before it incinerates your hard work.
Kindness. Use a kind word to lower the heat. Reasoning with an angry person is difficult, but kindness can derail the emotion. If you’re the angry one, a sudden kind word or gesture will do wonders for your state of mind.
