Hey Kids
Welcome to your page. The Brain Box is all yours!
But first, you might like to try this…
Could you please do something? Don’t worry, it won’t hurt. Well, it might if you fall off your chair while doing it. But try not to, okay?
First off, read this short poem:
Forests
Forests are like cities
They have tall trees that can grow
Taller than buildings
Forests have rivers and streams running through them
Cities have rivers as well
Forests are home to lots of people
Just like cities
One big difference though
Forest noise is soothing
City noise blares
That didn’t hurt, did it? Now, here’s the second thing to do. This is where the falling off the chair thing might happen.
Please tip your head to the right so the words appear vertical.
Oh, wait! If you’re reading this on a tablet, you’ll still have to do this step. If you turn the tablet, the page will rotate with it, right?
Does the poem look like the trees in the forest? Or the buildings in a city?
This website is mainly about thinking and writing. Writers use words to create brain pictures. When you tipped your head, your brain put the words and the image of tall trees together. Yeah, you’ll have to use a bit of imagination.
And don’t lean over too far. Remember the whole chair thing.
School is back here in Australia. Everyone has returned to their work, school, chores and thinking routine.
Are we getting a grip on deep thinking? A lot goes on inside your head when you think. Of course, you can’t feel it. Not like you feel your muscles working when you kick a footy.
It might surprise you, but the simple act of kicking a football involves a lot of decision-making.
